We are seeking a Senior Government Sales Executive for a growing federal contractor. The Senior Government Sales Executive is a new position and will be a core member of the business development team. This person will be responsible for generating new sales within the Federal Government market segments. The Senior Government Sales Executive must have experience selling to Federal Government customers, responding to Requests for Proposals, Inquiries and Quotes, as well as responding to Task Order Requests.
Overarching Objectives
Generating Product and Services sales in specific Federal Civilian and DoD agencies
Creating $1+ million annualized sales per year after the initial 12-month period.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Develops proposals, bids, quotations, RFP responses, or other documents describing company products and services in response to requests from prospective clients.
Develops new prospects and interacts with existing government customers to increase sales to government agencies. Maintains and nurtures relationships with government customers.
Identifies and qualifies upcoming solicitations, task orders, and new business opportunities, and maintains pipeline within the scope of the company’s existing capture management discipline.
Provides inside sales support for Business Development Managers (BDMs) for GSA solicitations and Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contracts.
Works with vendors to develop and coordinate Federal sales responses.
Qualifications Required
3+ years of experience selling products and services to Federal clients.
Experience responding to RFQ and RFPs.
Excellent verbal and written communications skills, as well as general technical knowledge of current technologies, are required.
Good public speaking ability in presenting services and solutions and demonstrating products.
Proven ability to handle all processes of the sales cycle from lead generation. Progression to close deals (generate leads, set up meetings, demo product, articulate value proposition, build quotes, write proposals, negotiate contracts).
